Note: Starting March 2023, Global Design is called Site Theme.
Global design gets a most welcomed addition - global colors.
Global colors let you create a cross-site color palette to instantly change colors of site elements everywhere, all at once.
Using global colors is a major time saver. Previously, if you wanted to build a site to match a client’s logo colors of, say, black and orange, you’d have to manually update the colors of buttons, headlines and other site widgets to match the client’s branding one by one. Not anymore!
Now, all you have to do is hop over to global colors under global design in the editor, and create a site-wide color palette made up of (up to) 8 colors. All the site colors will then change accordingly.
Next, use the global colors in the color picker when designing your site:
Any changes you make to this color palette will instantly apply to all the widgets connected to it, so your changes will automatically update everywhere . So next time your client asks for a color change, that would be easy-peasy.
To get the most of what global colors have to offer for existing sites and templates, let the platform find the palette for you, instead of updating colors manually widget by widget, page by page.
This will save you considerable design time and effort, and will help you quickly update colors across your site.
The automatic global colors generator works by scanning your site and detecting the most frequently used colors. That way you get a complete set of up to 8 global colors, all ready to go and connected to your site’s widgets and global design.
Set up a new website fast with one of the Duda templates that already include a set of global colors. You can easily replace the default color palette with the ones you (or your clients) want.
Get started with one of these - look for them on the templates page:
We’re constantly working to add the global colors capability to Duda’s templates, so you can get a head start with site design with as many templates as possible. To learn more about global design,
